Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We understand this is a very difficult time in your life, and that you have a heart-wrenching decision to make. Whatever you decide, we wish the best for you and your child. We are very excited about this opportunity to become parents and anxiously look to expand our family through an open adoption based on your needs and wants. We're very thankful that you are taking this time to learn about us. We have been married for 8 years and our dream is to have a child to love. We have trying to become pregnant for five years, during which time we have worked with infertility specialists, and unsuccessfully tried In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) twice. Brad is a Registered Nurse and Orthopedic Coordinator in the operating room of a local hospital. He is outgoing, energetic, and has a great sense of humor. In addition to spending time with his family, Brad enjoys playing soccer, softball, and football, running for enjoyment, fishing, and working around the house. Deidre has been a secretary for over 10 years at a school district for special needs children. She is honest, caring, and loving and makes spending time with her family a top priority. She enjoys cooking, reading, watching movies, spending time with family, and taking walks with our dogs. She will take three months of maternity leave when she becomes an excited mommy. We both have a positive outlook on life, and are very health conscious. Family is very important to us. We love to spend time with family and friends, and they are very supportive of us adopting a child. They want us to have a chance to be outstanding parents. We have three Yorkshire Terriers and a Cockatiel as pets. Gizzy, Chevy, and Daisy Mae (9, 8, and 4 years old) are very loving and protective. The dogs have been around our friends’ children since they were born and are used to being very gentle. We live in a growing small town about 30 minutes from St. Louis. Our neighborhood is very friendly, and we regularly get together for block parties. Some of the children around the neighborhood have been adopted locally. We also have the city lake nearby where we like to walk our dogs, sled in the winter, fish, and have picnics. The school system has a wonderful education program and offers quite a few after school activities. We have lived in our house for a little over 8 years. It is approximately 1800 square feet with three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a fenced in yard. It is an older home, built in the 1920’s. Over the years, we have remodeled the house from top to bottom. We did all the work ourselves. Deidre’s dad helped us and taught Brad how to do plumbing, wiring, and framing. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to read our letter and learn more about us. We hope you will allow us to be the parents of your baby and we would be honored to raise him or her to be a loving responsible adult. It takes a very courageous, special woman to love her child as much as you do to consider this future for him or her. We hope to talk to you very soon.
